In the heart of Singapore's bustling central business district lies an unexpected green haven, the size of about 1.5 football fields.
But this former car park isn't just any park; it's an innovative garden IN and ON the Capita Spring building.
Starting at level 17 and ending on level 20, the verdant botanical promenade replicates a rainforest's lushness by duplicating it’s planting patterns. On the 51st floor you'll find the rooftop "Food Forest" hosting 150 varieties of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers - from turmeric to spinach to experimental crops like tiger nuts. This urban farm serves as a direct pantry for chefs in the building's restaurants, blending urban life with the freshness of farm-to-table dining.
This oasis also includes work pods, ideation nests, and an amphitheater.
By seamlessly weaving green infrastructure into multipurpose residential and office spaces, it contributes to the City in Nature pillar of Singapore's Green Plan 2030, a strategy aiming to produce 30% of its food locally by 2030 to mitigate supply chain vulnerabilities.
With land at a premium, this ambitious goal required them to rethink the concept of farming, leading Singapore to new heights in sustainability - literally.
When it comes to your business, what is YOUR “Food Forest?” How can you reimagine your resources to reach new goals?
