Chapter 4 - The Recovery
Previously: Maria and Elena faced the aftermath of a storm that impacted their neighborhoods and businesses. While Maria relied on traditional methods, Elena leveraged AI tools to manage the crisis. We continue.
Maria came up with another plan. She printed up a batch of flyers and went around to other local businesses and community centers, offering special deals for upcoming events as a gesture to support the recovery of the community.
Elena understood that the entire community had been impacted and she wanted to honor and support that. That’s why she collaborated with local artists to create recovering-from-a-storm-themed digital art. These she turned into a digital collectible series. While the collection was technically an NFT collection, she wanted to ensure accessibility to everyone and instead called them “St-Art Vouchers.”
Since this project was closely linked to the environment, she chose a more environmentally friendly blockchain, called Tezos, on which to mint the NFTs.
The smart contracts recorded on Tezos provided the following benefits:
✨ Each piece of digital art was certified as the original, giving it unique value.
✨ The smart contract stated the provenance of the art.
✨ It specified unique qualities that transferred ownership rights to the recipient, aimed at community reconstruction.
✨ If the new owner sold the art, it would generate royalties for the artist and the renovation fund in the secondary market.
The St-Art Voucher was not only a work of art but indeed art with benefits. It included:
✅ A 50% discount voucher for a special series of six storm recovery floral bouquets by Elena, inspired by the work of art.
✅ An invitation to an exclusive real-life experiential gallery exhibition where the new owner of the art would collaborate with the artist on a concept for their next art project, thereby co-creating the next pieces with added royalties.
✅ An invitation to an exclusive monthly breakfast club meeting with the mayor to talk about and spearhead neighborhood improvements.
Since all of this was written on the blockchain, there was complete transparency, which appealed to her sense of inclusivity and community building.
Elena chose this project because she knew her trendy neighborhood clientele would get it. And they did.
The collection was sold out within three hours. This gave Elena the advance orders she needed to improve her cash flow, brought in extra funds to help with her neighborhood’s recovery efforts, and secured her place as an innovative key player in her community.
Both Maria and Elena reached out to their communities to support others, but also to bring in business. Elena found that through tech, she had more options to reach farther and create an even bigger impact. They both marveled at the potential available at their fingertips.
The weeks passed, and things returned to normal.
Until one day.
Tune in for the final episode to hear what happened.
